Firmware update operation timed out on the compute node.

It indicates that a node firmware upgrade workflow is taking more than expected time to complete the upgrade. Some of the possible reasons for this issue are as follows:
  • Moving a node into maintenance might be taking more time than expected due to pending pods for eviction.
  • Firmware flash operation might be taking more time to complete than expected.

Do the following steps to diagnose and resolve the issue:
  1. Cancel the firmware upgrade operation. For steps to cancel, see Upgrading node firmware.
  2. Wait for firmware upgrade message on the IBM Fusion user interface.
  3. On the IBM Fusion user interface, check the timeout reason in the status and take appropriate action.
