Managing data

IBM Sterling Fulfillment Optimizer with Watson gathers information from multiple sources in real-time to optimize orders based on factors such as shipping and node capacity. To begin using Fulfillment Optimizer, you must transfer data using the Fulfillment Optimizer file adapter.

Using the integration between Fulfillment Optimizer and IBM Sterling Order Management System

Data from IBM® Sterling Order Management System is available as events Fulfillment Optimizer subscribes to these events and ingests the content

The following data sets are supported by the integration between Fulfillment Optimizer and IBM Sterling Order Management System.
Note: Customers who are using this integration must not use the file adapter to transfer data for the supported data sets.

Using the file adapter

The Fulfillment Optimizer file adapter uses high speed transfer protocol to move data sets from on-premise systems to Fulfillment Optimizer. Various data feed types are supported; when received on the Fulfillment Optimizer they are analyzed for consistency and, in some cases, used to determine the predictive or backlog cost. This data is then used in real-time by the Fulfillment Optimizer when making a fulfillment decision. Each data feed type must be present for the Fulfillment Optimizer dashboard to be populated.

Uploading the data files takes about 3 hours after files are received at IBM, assuming there are no issues with the data load.
