Adding a carrier

You can add new carriers for the nodes in IBM Sterling Fulfillment Optimizer with Watson.

About this task

Important: You must add the required data in the same sequence as mentioned in the procedure.

Procedure

To add a new carrier for a node, complete the following steps:

  1. Add the Carrier Name and the Carrier Service Name by using the Shipping dimension weight factor data type (CMF).
  2. Map the Carrier Service to the required nodes and the supported SLAs by using the Node carrier applicability SLA data type (NCA).
  3. Add the Rate card for the carrier by using the Shipping rate card data type (RC).
  4. Add the Transit data for the carrier by using the Shipping transit days data type (TM).

Adding a carrier for a node using files

Procedure

To add a new carrier for a node using files, complete the following steps:

  1. Add the Carrier Name and the Carrier Service Name by using the Shipping dimension weight factor data type (CMF).
  2. Map the Carrier Service to the required nodes and the supported SLAs by using the Node carrier applicability SLA data type (NCA).
  3. Add the Rate card for the carrier by using the Shipping rate card data type (RC).
  4. Add the Transit data for the carrier by using the Shipping transit days data type (TM).

Adding a carrier for a node using APIs

Procedure

To add a new carrier for a node using APIs, complete the following steps:

  1. Add the Carrier Name and the Carrier Service Name by using the Setup Carrier API and Setup Carrier Service API.
  2. Add zone definitions using the Setup Zone Definitions API.
  3. Map the Carrier Service to the required nodes and the supported SLAs by using the Node carrier applicability SLA data type (NCA).
  4. Add the Rate card for the carrier by using the Upload Transit Rates API.
  5. Add the Transit data for the carrier by using the Upload Transition Durations API.
