Setting the driver path for Db2 data sources

To ensure that the application server has access to the files that it needs to connect to Db2® on z/OS®:

  1. The license file that is required to connect the application server to Db2 on z/OS is db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar. If the application server runs on a multiplatform system, copy this file from the DB2 Connect installation directory to the directory in which the Db2 JDBC driver library file (db2jcc4.jar) is located.
  2. Ensure that the WebSphere® variable DB2UNIVERSAL_JDBC_DRIVER_PATH is set to the directory in which the db2jcc4.jar and db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar files are located. To check this variable:
    1. Log on to the administrative console as the WebSphere Application Server administrator. The recommended user ID of this user is UWASA1. The access rights of this user are described in Table 1.
    2. Click Environment > WebSphere Variables.
