Message administrator tasks

A message administrator is a user who performs some or all of the following tasks:
  • Move messages to other queues
  • Copy messages
  • Delete messages from queues
  • Retry routing of messages
  • Break locks on messages
  • Change the local address of messages
The access rights for these tasks are granted by the DnqERMsgAdmin role, or by a similar custom role.

The corresponding actions are available from pop-up menus in the message list. Most administrative actions can be executed for several messages at once. Additionally, from the queue list, it is possible to execute some of these actions on all messages in a queue, as shown in Figure 1. The Actions column appears only for users who have the right for at least one administrative action that can be applied to all messages on a queue.

Undo redirect button

Retry routing button

Notes:
  1. Executing an administrative action on a queue with hundreds or thousands of messages will result in high load for the routing component. This may delay the processing of non-administrative user actions such as Save as draft or Redirect.
  2. Administrative actions on more than one message skip messages that are locked.
