Changing reference data type

You can change the type of SWIFT directory you use. For example, if you currently use the BIC Directory 2018 but want to switch to BankDirectoryPlus, you can use the Reference Data Utility to import a FULL file of the new format. You can switch directories only when importing a full file, not a delta file.

Note:
  • After changing the SWIFT directory, it is recommended to run the Db2® runstats utility to update the catalog statistics for the reference data tables in the DNIBICI table space.
  • Records for which the WRITE_PROTECED='Y' is set will not being touched. As the record keys differs between BIC Directory 2018 and BankDirectoryPlus, duplicate records could have been loaded for those records which are write protected.
  • Due to referential integrity, SWIFTNet address information (distinguished names) will be removed. You need to load the SWIFTRef ReachPlus for FINplus input files again after the new format is loaded. As record keys differ between the loaded formats, participant information will not be available for records for which the WRITE_PROTECED='Y' flag is set.
To make the updated data usable by FTM SWIFT, please see Activating reference data updates for message validation and Making reference data updates visible in MER and RMA enterprise applications.
