Purge processing

Purge processing on the Distribution engine is started by the Transaction Server. The Transaction Server must be configured to send purge messages to Distribution. For more information about configuring the Transaction Server to send messages to Distribution, see Communicating with the Transaction Server.

When the Distribution engine receives a purge request, it purges the following resources that are associated with the business day being purged.

Segments and transmissions are built in a directory structure that includes the business day and category. The engine deletes the directories that are used to build the segments and transmissions for the business day being purged.
The engine deletes all of the delivery window cutoff tasks that are associated with the business day being purged.
