View menu category

When expanding the view menu category, a dropdown menu is shown.

Five actions are available from the view menu category. Each one manages the log pages that are inserted into the tabbed pane or presents the user with specific log entry details.

The first two actions, previous and next, simply insert or show new log pages in the Log Viewer tabbed pane. These pages are inserted or shown with respect to the currently active (showing) log page. New pages are inserted only if they are not presently being shown. Otherwise, the page is simply brought to the top. Table 1 describes the previous and next actions in the view menu category:
Table 1. Under View - actions and descriptions
Actions Descriptions
View --> Previous Insert and show log page before the currently active log page
View --> Next Insert and show log page after the currently active log page

The next action, details..., displays the log details dialog for the currently selected log entry. This allows a more specific view of the information about a particular log entry than what is available in the log page. For a more complete description of the information presented in this dialog, see Log Details Dialog.

The next action, refresh, returns the Log Viewer to its initial state after re-examining the log directory to see if new log files have been added. All log pages are removed and only the first page is seen after a refresh is invoked.

Finally, the select action can be used to select a specific log page to be added to the Log Viewer tabbed pane.

Using the select action also allows the user to move to any log page. The Log Viewer always keeps the log pages in order, regardless of the order in which they are inserted.
