Multi-page Log Viewer example

The Log Viewer displays multiple pages of log information. Each page can be brought into view using the tabs at the bottom of the view area. Pages are named according to the sequence in which they were created. Newer pages have lower page indices than older pages. The actual filename of the log file is visible by moving the mouse pointer over the tab.

The filename is presented to the user as a tool tip, which is helpful for correlating the data being viewed with its associated log file.

Also notice the log entries are presented in chronological order with the earlier entries appearing first. This is the standard ordering of log records in the log viewer.

Add as many pages to the Log Viewer as needed. The tab area is expanded vertically to accommodate the increased page volume.

If attempting to add pages beyond what is available in the log directory, a warning message for the last page is presented.

Click OK to dismiss this message and return to the Log Viewer application to continue viewing the log information.
