Transmission File Format

To support multiple image cash letter (ICL) formats, including DSTU X9.37-2003 and ANS X9.100-180-2006, IBM® is adopting an internal, normalized record format for ICL files. The normalized records have the commonly used data in an IBM-specified location, represented with IBM-specified values. These records also contain the original record data in its original form.

In addition to the normalized records, a record type is needed to carry information to the host. This record type is defined in Table 1.
