Add Image Validation Rule

The add image validation rule page allows the user to add a new image validation or correction rule to the selected rule set by clicking the add image validation rule link.

Image Validation Rule Fields

The image validation rule page has the following fields:
Note: Required fields are indicated with an asterisk.
Rule Type *
The rule type is a combination of the type of rule and the image view. Select a rule type from the list. The page then displays a section with fields appropriate for the rule type selected.
TIFF Rule
When a TIFF rule type is selected, this section is displayed. TIFF data contains images and fields holding attributes associated with the images. In TIFF validation, the TIFF tests either apply to the entire image or to a TIFF field. The image tests are called image structure tests and the TIFF field tests are called field tests.

The fields used to define a TIFF rule are displayed in this section of the page. The fields are:

Image
Indicate if this rule is for an image structure test
Field
Indicate if this rule is for a TIFF field test
Field Tag Number *
Select the TIFF field tag number for this test. The list is only available if the field option is selected.
TIFF Test *
Select a test from the list of test operations available. The test operations available in the selection list depend on whether this is an image structure or a field test. TIFF Rule Test Operations shows more information about which operations are available for the different test types.
Test Required
Specify if the test is required. This field allows tests to be disabled without deleting their configuration. The default value is Yes.
Error Code *
Enter one of the managed error codes. It is one to seven characters long.
Test Values
Enter test values to apply for the selected TIFF validation test. It can contain 0 to 100 characters. For information about how to specify the test value for each TIFF test, see TIFF Rule Test Operations.
IQA Rule
When an IQA rule type is selected, this section is displayed. The fields used to define an IQA rule are displayed in this section. The fields are:
IQA Test *
Select a test from the list of available image quality test operations. IQA Rule Test Operations shows more information about the IQA tests available.
Test Required
Specify if the test is required. This field allows tests to be disabled without deleting their configuration. The default value is Yes.
Error Code *
Enter one of the managed error codes. It is one to seven characters long.
Test Value
Enter the test value to apply to the selected image quality validation test operation. For information about how to specify the test value for each IQA test, see IQA Rule Test Operations.
Integrity Analysis
When an integrity analysis rule type is selected, this section is displayed. The fields used to define an integrity analysis rule are displayed in this section. The fields are:
MICR Field *
Select the codeline validation field to be tested from the list. The MICR fields available are shown in Integrity Analysis Rule Test Operations.
Error Code *
Enter one of the managed error codes. It is one to seven characters long.
MICR Test Threshold
Specify the MICR confidence threshold for this rule. It is an integer from 0 to 100. The default value is 70.
Ignore All Digit errors
Indicate if all digit errors in the coded data MICR field are to be ignored by Image Compliance
Ignore Leading zeroes
Indicate if leading zeros in the coded data MICR field and the image data are to be ignored by Image Compliance.
Treat "A" as zero
Indicate if Image Compliance substitutes the zero character for the "A" character. It is used as high order digit padding by some capture sources.
Missing Field match
Indicate if Image Compliance assumes a match for the fields missing from the image data.
Include Dashes
Indicate if Image Compliance uses the dash characters when performing matching
Perform Routing correction
Indicate if Image Compliance attempts to correct a single digit error in the MICR routing number in the image data.
Test Required
Specify if the test is required. This field allows tests to be disabled without deleting their configuration. The default value is Yes.
Number of Image Digit errors allowed
Specify the number of digit errors that are allowed in the coded data MICR field before the match score for the field is impacted. For more information about using this field, see Using the Integrity Analysis Digit Error Parameters.
Percentage of Digit Errors Allowed
Number of digit errors allowed, specified as a minimum percentage of the expected codeline field size. It is an integer from 0 to 100. The default value is 100. For more information about using this field, see Using the Integrity Analysis Digit Error Parameters.
TIFF Correction Rule
When a TIFF correction rule type is selected, this section is displayed. TIFF correction provides a set of predefined operations that are used to correct specific problems in invalid TIFF images.

The fields used to define a TIFF correction rule are displayed in this section. The fields are:

TIFF Correction Rule *
Select an operation from the list of available TIFF correction operations. TIFF correction rule operations shows more information about the TIFF correction options.
Correction Required
Specify if correction is to be performed. This field allows TIFF correction to be disabled for this rule without deleting its configuration. The default value is Yes.
Error Code *
The error code to set when the correction operation fails. Enter one of the managed error codes. It is one to seven characters long.
Correction Parameters
Enter any optional parameters to be used by the correction operation. For more information about the parameters available for the correction operations, see TIFF correction rule operations.
Note: Not all correction operations have parameters.
