Processing
After a transaction is marked as an administrative return and assigned the correct return endpoint, Distribution maps the transaction into an outbound transmission. How it is mapped and built along with its corresponding outbound transmission depends on how the participant, endpoint, and transmission definitions are configured.
If the transmission definition is configured for file to file delivery, Distribution puts the transaction into a transmission that contains only transactions from the same inbound transmission. Transactions from the inbound transmission that are assigned to the same endpoint continue to be mapped to the same outbound transmission until the inbound transmission completes processing. After it completes, all corresponding outbound transmissions are delivered.
If it is not configured for file to file delivery, the transaction is mapped into an outbound transmission with other transactions that are assigned to the same endpoint. The outbound transmission is scheduled and delivered as any other outbound transmission.
If the transmission is scheduled for end of day delivery, transactions continue to be mapped to the transmission until the send end of day transmissions message is received. All transmissions that are scheduled for end of day delivery for the business day are delivered. If any of the end of day transmissions do not finish building or an error occurs, the business day check fails because all transmissions were not successfully built and released. These transmissions must be manually built and released for the business day check to complete successfully.
