Error -- RECEIVE Processing

If, for any reason, the completion of the processing of an x9.37 (2003) input transmission through the Gateway Server system is unsuccessful, the transmission are moved to the Gateway Server’s \error directory or as defined in the izxconfig.properties file.

Before recovery or reprocessing can begin, the original problem must be corrected. If it is determined that the transmission is the problem, a new and correct transmission must be obtained from the source. If the problem is hardware or network related, processing can continue after the problem is resolved. If the input transmissions are still located at the Gateway Server input facility, they may be redistributed to the Gateway Server’s \source directory landing zone. Additionally, transmissions may be moved out of the \error directory and into the \source input directory. However, these transmissions must be renamed. When the input transmissions are moved into the \error directory after an error condition, a 13-digit timestamp in milliseconds is added to the filename.

For example: Input files named 100000007.05082903.dat and 100000007.05082903.eof become 100000007.05082903_1084406349501.dat and 100000007.05082903_1084406349501.eof, where: _10844063499501 is the timestamp in milliseconds.

Depending on where in the process the error condition occurred, the filename may have other pieces of names appended to it. Before manually moving the transmissions from the \error directory to the \source input directory, the transmissions should be renamed to the original naming convention as stated above in the example, stripping out the _[timestamp] and any other name parts. The filename with the .dat extension should be manually moved or copied first and then moved to the corresponding file with the .eof extension.

Any error conditions cause messages to be written in the Gateway Server .xml log file found in the Gateway Server \logs directory. For more information, refer to Table 1.
Note: The Gateway Server’s log file is not completely written until the Gateway Server application is closed.
Error messages are also displayed on the Gateway Server operator console, dependent on the parameter of the consoleLevel keyword of the izxconfig.properties file.
