Addenda Processing

The Gateway processes addendum records as described below:
  1. Check Detailed Addendum A Record (Type 26) -- (Bank of First Deposit details)
    • Only nine (9) records of this type are included per item in the outgoing cash letter.
    • If the Gateway encounters more than nine type 26 records for an item, it will include the last nine records after sorting the records in chronological order, oldest to newest, and the remaining records are ignored; appropriate warning messages are displayed to the user.
  2. Check Detailed Addendum B Record (Type 27) -- (Image Archive Details)
    • Only a single type 27 record per item is allowed.
    • If the Gateway receives type 27 records, both from an incoming file and from the Transaction Server, it includes the type 27 record from the incoming file; an appropriate warning message is displayed to the user.
  3. Check Detailed Addendum C Record (Type 28) -- (Endorsement Details)
    • The maximum number of records allowed (per item) for this type is: MAX_NUM28 = 99 - (number of type 26 records + number of type 27 records)
    • If the Gateway encounters more than the maximum allowed records of this type, it includes the last MAX_NUM28 records after sorting the records in chronological order, oldest to newest; an appropriate warning message is displayed to the user.
    • When records are retrieved from the Transaction Server in DSTU x9.37-2003 data format, but the outgoing file is in SVPCo x9.37-2003 Post Pilot data format, Gateway includes the entire record without modification. For Type 28 records, this means the 15-character user field starting at position 41 in the retrieved record will be interpreted as a 1-character endorsing bank identifier and a 14-character user field in the outgoing file.
    • When records are retrieved from the Transaction Server in SVPCo x9.37-2003 Post Pilot data format, but the outgoing file is in DSTU x9.37-2003 data format, Gateway also includes the entire record without modification. For Type 28 records, this means the 1-character endorsing bank identifier at position 41 and the 14-character user field starting at position 42 in the retrieved record will be interpreted as a 15-character user field in the outgoing file.
Note: The Type 25 record has a 2-byte field for the number of addendum records; therefore, the total number of 2x addendum records can be 99.
  4. Return Addendum Records Handling
    • Type 32 records are handled in the same manner as type 26 records.
    • Type 33 and Type 34 records are handled in the same manner as type 27 records.
    • Type 35 records are handled in the same manner as type 28 records.
  5. Including and Excluding Records of a Type

A user configures the following keywords in the routing data to Include, Exclude, and ExcludeITS records of a particular type in the outgoing cash letter.

    • Type26Records
    • Type27Records
    • Type28Records
    • Type32Records
    • Type33Records
    • Type34Records
    • Type35Records
Note: Records returned by the user are not filtered based on the routing data Include and Exclude flags.
