Permissions Usage Example

Permissions granted at the task level interact with the permissions granted during installation. Table 1 shows several different permissions assignments and the effect they have on the user group. The permissions for the task configuration screen are used in this example.

Note: Because the group does not have the view task configuration screen permission, users in the group cannot work with task configurations. The group must also have the view task configuration screen permission in order to delete task configurations.

  • Activity purge task – view
 Users in the group will be able to:
  • view task configuration screen
  • view the list of configured tasks related to the activity purge task
Users in the group will not be able to:
  • view the list of configured tasks except for the activity purge task
  • edit the configured task
  • configure a new task
  • delete the configured task
  • View the task configuration screen
  • View all task configurations
  • Activity purge task – view
 Users in the group will be able to:
  • view task configuration screen
  • view the list of configured tasks
Users in the group will not be able to:
  • edit the configured task
  • configure a new task
  • delete the configured task
Note: Assigning the additional permission of Activity purge task – view has no effect because the group is permitted to view all of the task configurations.
