Pending Items and Finalizing Repairs

After an item is repaired, the repair is not immediately sent. It is held as a pending item and placed at the top of the pending items list. A pending item can be re-displayed to perform another repair. The Payment Repair pages have a field that shows the content and order of the pending items list.

When an item is finalized, Payment Repair sends messages to other components. If there are problems with this processing, a message describing the problem is displayed in the text area at the bottom of the repair pages. The item should be rejected so other items can be processed.

When working with pending items, it is important to remember the following:

  1. Logging off with pending items causes the items to be finalized automatically.
  2. If the browser session times out when there are pending items, the items are finalized automatically.
  3. If there is a sudden server shutdown, pending items cannot be handled before the server stops. When the server restarts, all pending items are returned to the new state and need to be repaired before being finalized.
