Segment Details page
The segment details page is used to display more details for the selected segment. The segment details are logically grouped for better organization of the information. Use Back to return to the outbound segments page.
General Information
The general information area contains the following fields.
- Business Day
- The business date associated with this segment
- Category
- The category associated with this segment
- Identifier
- The transmission identifier used by Distribution to uniquely identify the segment. This identifier is an internal processing ID.
- Status
- The status of the segment. If the status represents an error, the status is displayed in red.
- Message
- An optional message field that is associated with the status of the segment. The message field contains informational processing information about the segment, usually when the segment is in an error status.
- Transmission
- The unique transmission identifier of the outbound transmission that contains this segment. It is a hyperlink that displays a transmission page that lists only the transmissions that are associated with this segment.
- Batch / ICL
- The unique batch (ICL) identifier of the outbound batch (ICL) containing this segment. It is a hyperlink that displays a batch / ICL page that lists only the batches (ICLs) associated with this segment.
Receiver Information
This area is information about the participant to which the segment is presented.
- Receiver
- The ID of the participant to which this segment is to be presented.
- Name
- Detailed information used to describe the participant.
- Address
- The street address for this participant.
- City
- The city for this participant.
- State
- The state for this participant.
- Zipcode
- The mailing postal code for this participant.
Batch / ICL Information
The batch / ICL information area contains the following fields.
- Type
- Identifies the type of batch (ICL) containing this segment. Examples of batch (ICL) types are shown in the
following list.
- Cash letter
- Transmission
- Batch
- Collection
- A numeric code that is used to identify the content within the batch (ICL). This value can differ
depending on the transmission format that is selected, for example, X9.37 or
X9.100). Some collection type examples are shown in the following list.
- Forward presentment
- Return
- Delayed processing notification

- Bank
- The bank number that is used to identify the institution that is creating the segment.
- Endpoint
- The endpoint that is to receive this segment.
- Building options
- Definition associated with an endpoint that contains instructions on how the transactions within the segment are to be built. Distribution uses the building options to identify how many transactions go in a segment and which image views to include.
- Sequence Number
- The identifier used by Distribution to uniquely identify this segment. This ID is used for internal processing.
- Distribution type
- Identifies the distribution type. The values of the distribution types are shown in the following list.
- Endpoint
- Sidepoint
- Reversal
- Remake
Financial Information
The following fields are the financial information that is contained within this segment:
- System credit amount
- The calculated value of all the credit transactions in the transmission for this segment. The amount is displayed in the system currency when the use system currency to format control amount property is set to true. The column header displays the aggregate total for all the records in the column.
- System debit amount
- The calculated value of all the debit transactions in the transmission for this segment. The amount is displayed in the system currency when the use system currency to format control amount property is set to true. The column header displays the aggregate total for all the records in the column.
- Control credit amount
- The expected value of all the credit transactions in the transmission for this segment. The amount is displayed in the system currency when the use system currency to format control amount property is set to true. The column header displays the aggregate total for all the records in the column.
- Control debit amount
- The expected value of all the debit transactions in the transmission for this segment. The amount is displayed in the system currency when the use system currency to format control amount property is set to true. The column header displays the aggregate total for all the records in the column.
- MICR valid debit amount
- The total value of all check detail records that contain the defined value 1 in the MICR Valid Indicator.
- Number debits
- The total number of debit items contained within this segment.
- Number credits
- The total number of credit items contained within this segment.
- Outbound Currency
- The currency used in the outbound segment.
Segment Information
The segment information provides details about the physical file that is created and how the file was
built:
- Transmission definition
- The name of the transmission definition that is used to build the transmission for presenting to the participant.
- Format
- The formatting standard used when the transmission was created.
- Sequence Number
- A number that indicates the relative position of the segment within the transmission. The Distribution engine assigns the sequence number. This number is unique within the transmission and is generated only when the segment is contained within a transmission.
- Total transactions
- The total number of transactions (both credit and debit) contained within this transmission
- Total images
- The total number of images contained within this transmission
- Segment size (bytes)
- The total size of the segment, in bytes. The segment size exists only when the segment is created.
- Addenda
- The number of addenda records contained within this segment.
- Segment location
- The location on the hard disk drive where the segment is placed after it is built. This location is different from the routing location.
Segment Warnings
The segment warnings area shows a list of warnings that are associated with a segment. These warnings
identify potential problems that might affect the processing of the transmission with which it is associated.
No actions can be taken on warnings, such as deleting. Each time a segment starts to build, all warnings for
that segment are deleted.
Note: All warnings for a segment are for the most recent build process.

- Created
- Represents the date and time that this warning occurred.
- Warning
- A description of the warning.
