New Task Configuration page
Use the new task configuration page to configure a registered task. A task must be configured before it is available for processing. Before configuring the task, it must be registered.
To configure a task:
- Click New Task Configuration.
- Select the registered task to configure from the list.
- Provide a unique configuration name for the selected task.
- Add a description for the configuration. The description provides detailed information about the purpose of the task.
- Depending on the type of task selected, a set of configuration parameters is presented for configuring. Each task has its own set of configuration parameters and required fields. Refer to the task's product documentation for additional information.
- When all information is completed, save the configured task.
Fields
The new task configuration page has the following fields. Required fields are indicated with an asterisk.
- Task *
- A list of registered tasks to configure. Select a task to configure before saving the configuration.
- Configuration *
- Unique name of the configuration. It has a maximum length of 60 characters.
- Description
- A detailed description for the configuration. It has a maximum length of 512 characters.
- Activate task
- Indicates whether the task is to be active or not. An active task is available to process work. When work comes in for a task, the request is only given to the task if it is active. If work is given to an inactive task, it does not process and a warning is issued.
- Process end of day
- Indicates whether the task is part of the end of day processing that is initiated from the Control Center or Transaction Server. The Transaction Server sends an end of day query message to Services Framework. Services Framework checks whether each task that has a value of yes in this field is ready to perform end of day. If a task denies the query, Services Framework saves the denial reason from the task and continues the query processing for the rest of the tasks. After all of the tasks are queried, Services Framework sends a single message that contains any failed reasons to the Transaction Server.
- Process cleanup
- Identifies whether the task is part of the Transaction Server purge process for a business day. The Transaction Server sends a purge or clean up message to Services Framework. Services Framework sends a request to each task that has a value of yes in this field to clean up the work for that business day.
- Delete on complete
- Identifies whether task activities can be deleted when they are complete. If this field is set to true,
task activities are deleted when they complete successfully, which means without errors or warnings. Task
activities are not deleted if they have errors or warnings. If this field is set to false, the task activities
are not deleted when they are complete. Note: Deleted task activities do not appear on the task activity page.
- Configuration Parameters
- When a task is selected, its configuration parameters are shown in this section. The parameters must be configured to meet processing requirements. If a value is not entered for a parameter, its default value is used. Some parameter values, such as passwords, may be hidden. They are shown as a series of asterisks (***). Refer to the documentation for the specific task for more information about its configuration parameters.
