MICR Data Area

The MICR data fields for the item are shown under the image display area. Non-repairable fields are displayed as static text. When non-repairable fields are marked invalid, the field names and values are displayed with red, italicized static text.

The MICR data fields are:
  • Aux On Us
  • EPC
  • Routing Number
  • Field 4
  • Account
  • Process Control
  • Amount
  • Currency. This field cannot be repaired unless the user has the proper permissions.

At repair time, the endpoint of each payment is used to obtain the repairable fields. All code line fields can be edited for payments with no endpoint assignment, payments whose endpoint has no defined repair service, and payments with an endpoint that has more than one repair service.

To make MICR fields repairable or non repairable, configure the forward repair service, which has MICR options. If the MICR option is set to true, the code line field is repairable. For instructions on how to view, create, or customize a forward repair service, see the Billing User's Guide.

Data in any of these fields may be changed by moving the cursor to a field and entering new data. Attention should be paid to those fields the system considers invalid. Place the cursor on the rightmost invalid field with all characters in the field selected. As new data is entered, the field is cleared and the new data replaces the original information. When all changes have been made, press Enter. The highlight changes to indicate the field is complete and the cursor moves left to the next field with invalid data.

Some repairs require data to be entered in fields that are not marked as invalid. To navigate through the fields, use the Tab key to move the cursor to the right and press Shift+Tab to move it to the left.

When the last invalid field is updated, press Enter. The data for the item is submitted for validation. If the item is valid, the next item for repair is displayed. If it is still invalid, the item is re-displayed for it to be further repaired.
Note: Pressing Enter after changing the data in any field moves the cursor or submits the item as described.
