Dynamic menu features

The actions available on the selection menu for a specific release depends on the current state of the release. When the user clicks the selection menu, the actions available on the menu change dynamically based on the current state of the release.

Table 1 shows the actions available for a release based on its current state:

EDIT Lock Changes the state to locked
Import Displays the list of tables available for an import
Export Displays the list of tables available for an export
Edit Business Rules Displays the list of editable rules tables
Edit Descriptors Displays the list of editable descriptors
LOCKED Edit Changes the state to edit
Activate Activates the selected releases and starts the distribution rule configuration transfer to Business Rules Manager
Copy Copies the rules for the current release to the designated environment
Export Displays the select tables to export page
View Business Rules Displays the list of rules tables in read-only mode
View Descriptors Displays the list of descriptors in read-only mode
CLOSED Copy Copies the rules for the current release to the designated environment
Export Displays the select tables to export page
Reactivate Activates the selected closed releases and starts the distribution rule configuration transfer to the Business Rules Manager
View Business Rules Displays the list of rules tables in read-only mode
View Descriptors Displays the list of descriptors in read-only mode
ACTIVE Promote Promote is a special type of copy action. The rules are copied to the environments with a higher promotion order.
Copy Copies the rules for the current release to the designated environment
Export Displays the select tables to export page
View Business Rules Displays the list of rules tables in read-only mode
View Descriptors Displays the list of descriptors in read-only mode
Note:
  1. If the environment selected has only a view permission, the only action available on the menu is to view the business rules. The user may not be able to change the status of the release, nor can the user add, insert, update, or copy any of the business rules.
  2. If the environment selected has no permission at all, the user may not see any options available on the menu on the manage releases page. The user can still see the list of the releases but no actions are allowed.
  3. If the environment selected has no permission to delete, the user cannot delete any release even though they may have the delete releases permission category.
