Within each check processing environment, a number of Business Rules Server servers are required to support the high-speed sorters, server applications, and host applications. Each Business Rules Server running on the prerequisite hardware is able to support a minimum of 4 high-speed sorters. The number of server applications and host applications supported by a single server depends on the volume generated by those applications. In addition, a Business Rules Manager, Business Rules engine, relational database, and Control Center are required, but these components can exist at the enterprise level.
