Accumulators
Accumulators are a central part of Settlement. The main purpose of the accumulator is to allow individual transactions to be grouped for system balancing, monitoring, reporting, and extracting. Each accumulator contains a dollar total and a transaction count.
When you define an accumulator, configure the following mandatory fields.
- Identifier
- Name
- Extract
- Accumulator type
A sample accumulator definition is shown in the following table.
| Accumulator ID | Name | Extract | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| 11111111 | Accumulator 1 | No | Regular |
| 22222222 | Accumulator 3 | Yes | Offset |
| 33333333 | Accumulator 2 | Yes | Offset |
During processing, the count of transactions and the dollar value of the transactions are added to
individual accumulators. Settlement always maintains unique accumulators by business day, bank
number, and batch (ICL). The business day and bank number are standard within Settlement for
separating the processing of concurrent work. The batch identifier is used to facilitate balancing, reporting,
and extracting by
participant, image cash letter file, or batch (ICL). The following table shows an
example of accumulators for business days and bank numbers.
| Business day | Bank | Accumulator ID | Count | Value |
