Install the VerticalPodAutoscaler operator

About this task

FTM supports the Vertical Pod Autoscaler operator. This operator manages the Red Hat® OpenShift® resources that do scaling. FTM uses the following Vertical Pod Autoscaler components and resources.

  • VerticalPodAutoscaler instance

Install the VerticalPodAutoscaler operator so that it is available in all namespaces in the cluster. The recommended namespace to install the operator is openshift-vertical-pod-autoscaler. The information that you need to install the operator is shown in the following table.

You need not install the VerticalPodAutoscaler operator if you do not plan to scale the FTM pods vertically or use the resource recommendations from the VerticalPodAutoscaler objects.
