Reporting FTM usage

Usage and metric data is collected to determine the usage charges for the FTM offerings.

FTM reports usage and metric data by using the tools that are shown in the following list.
  • FTM metering service
  • FTM usage report tool (URT)

FTM metering service

The FTM metering service uploads metric data by using the IBM® metric upload API. This metric data provides the usage counts that are needed to accurately charge customers for their usage of FTM.

The FTM metering service sends the following information.
  • The date for the metering information.
  • The ID of the FTM offering that is being metered.
  • The number of transactions that were counted for the business day.

The FTM usage report tool also tracks usage counts, but at a much more granular level than the metric upload API requires. The usage report tool tracks by hostname, component, count type, payment scheme, and subtype or message type.
