Priorities

The priorities page allows authorized users to configure the order of precedence for transmissions. Priorities of 0 to 9 are assigned to the MQ message for building a transmission. The priority order is defined by configuring whole dollar amount ranges that are assigned to each priority. For example, a user can assign dollar amounts 0 to 100,000 as priority zero, 100,001 to 200,000 as priority one, and 200,001 to 300,000 as priority two. If the dollar amount for a transmission is not found in any of the defined priority ranges, an explicit priority is not assigned to the MQ message for building the transmission. For additional information about how the ranges are used, see Transmission Creation Prioritization.

During installation, a default set of priority ranges is created. Initially, all of the priority ranges are empty. The ranges can then be customized to fit business needs. The user can enter values for any or all of the priority ranges that are shown on the page. The dollar amounts in the range field values can also be deleted, which causes the priority range to be empty. Additional priorities cannot be added, and every priority is not required to have a priority range defined for it.

When changes to any priority range are saved, the changes take effect immediately and no restart is required.
