Maintaining the Releases

Release control is basic to the entire environment. Each release under the specified environment contains its own unique Business Rules tables.

The state diagram in Figure 1 shows how the release can be managed by its own series of state transitions and shows the initial state of each release once it is created. In edit mode, the user can import and export the business rules.

The user can change the state of the releases to locked and activating by using the lock and activate processes. When a release is activated, the system closes any existing active releases before it can be turned into an active state. Any closed release can also be reactivated.

The system keeps the history of its releases once it is activated or reactivated by preserving the previous release states separately.
