Global limit monitors page

The global limit monitors page displays all of the global limit monitors that are defined. Authorized users can create, update, and delete global limit monitors by using the page.

A global limit monitor is similar to a partner-specific monitor, except that it can apply to many partners at one time. Global monitors are used to define the maximum amount limits for the credit and debit transactions that are received by a partner during the lifetime of the monitor. A monitor can have a different limit for the credit and debit transactions. When limit change rules are defined for a global limit monitor, those rules adjust the maximum credit and debit amount limits for the monitor based on several criteria.

You need to restart the Risk engine for any changes to the global limit monitors to take effect.

Columns

The columns that are available on the page are shown in the following table.

Column name or function	Description
Selection control	The first column is used to select one or more global limit monitors from the list. Clicking the table header for this column selects all of the global limit monitors in the list.
Description	A description for this global limit monitor. The description is a link to display the global limit monitor details for this monitor.
Monitor Level	The level to which this global limit monitor applies. Valid values are shown in the following list. Batch The monitor applies to batches (ICLs). Transaction The monitor applies to transactions. Transmission The monitor applies to transmissions.
Monitor type	The type of this global limit monitor. Depending on the values in the monitor level and limit span columns, the monitor type is a message standard, a message type, or an inbound product.
Monitor type detail	The specific message standard, message standard grouping, message type, message type grouping, or inbound product for the monitor type that is selected for this global limit monitor.
Limit span	Indicates whether this global limit monitor is active for only a single batch (ICL) or transaction or whether it is active for a certain period. Valid values are shown in the following list. Single Batch The monitor is active for a single batch (ICL) only. Single Transaction The monitor is active for a single transaction only. Time Period The monitor is active for a certain period.
Velocity	The monitor is active based on payment velocity.
Credit limit	The maximum amount for the credit transactions that are originated by a partner. The credit limit for this global limit monitor can be overridden by a limit change rule.
Debit limit	The maximum amount for the debit transactions that are originated by a partner. The debit limit for this global limit monitor can be overridden by a limit change rule.
Credit period	When this global limit monitor is active for a certain period, this value is the number of days that the monitor monitors the credit limit.
Debit period	When this global limit monitor is active for a certain period, this value is the number of days that the monitor monitors the debit limit.
Change rules	The number of limit change rules that are defined for this global limit monitor. A change rule can override the credit and debit limits for the monitor by defining both the new limits and the criteria for using the new limits. The number is a link to use to display the change rules for this global limit monitor.
Status	Indicates whether this global limit monitor definition is active or not. Valid values are shown in the following list. Active The monitor is active. Deleted A user requested to delete this monitor, but it still has transactions that it is monitoring and cannot be deleted yet.
Effective begin date	Indicates whether this global limit monitor is in effect for only part of the year. If a date is in this column, it is the month and day of the first date of the date range to which this global limit monitor applies.
Effective end date	Indicates whether this global limit monitor is in effect for only part of the year. If a date is in this column, it is the month and day of the last date of the date range to which this global limit monitor applies.
Prefunded	Indicates whether the prefunded user exit is called to monitor the activity of the partner for this monitor.
Credit error code	The error code that is used by this global limit monitor when it rejects a credit. If the monitor definition does not specify an error code to use, an appropriate default error code from the Risk Management general properties is used instead.
Debit error code	The error code that is used by this monitor when it rejects a debit. If the monitor definition does not specify an error code to use, an appropriate default error code from the Risk Management general properties is used instead.
Date type	The type of the dates that are used by this global limit monitor. Valid values are shown in the following list. Business date This monitor uses business dates to calculate periods of time. Calendar date This monitor uses calendar dates to calculate periods of time.
Maturity date	The maturity date for this global limit monitor. This value cannot be changed for a global limit monitor.
Credit count	The number of credit items to allow in the defined interval.
Credit count error code	The error code used if this monitor rejects a credit. If no value is entered, then the appropriate default error code defined in the Risk General Properties.
Credit velocity interval	The amount of time that defines the credit velocity. Modify the credit velocity interval type to change the meaning of this value.
Credit velocity interval type	Specifies the velocity interval type that is specified by the credit velocity interval (for example, minutes).
Debit count	The number of debit items to allow in the defined interval.
Debit count error code	The error code used if this monitor rejects a debit. If no value is entered, then the appropriate default error code defined in the Risk General Properties.
Debit velocity interval	The amount of time that defines the debit velocity. Modify the debit velocity interval type to change the meaning of this value.
Debit velocity interval type	Specifies the velocity interval type that is specified by the debit velocity interval (for example, minutes).

Actions

The actions that are available on the page are shown in the following list.

Filter column displays the build filter link that you can use to create a filter for the columns on the page.
Create opens the Global Limit Monitor dialog box.
Refresh redisplays the list of records to show any new records and the updates that are made to existing records.
Search entry field. Typing text in this field automatically filters the global limit monitors that are displayed in the table. The table displays only those global limit monitors that match what was typed in the search field.
Download CSV saves the displayed table view as a .csv file.
Customize columns displays a page to select which columns are shown or hidden on the global limit monitors page.
Row settings configures the size and the spacing of the text that is displayed in the cells of the table.
Open documentation opens the help page.
Click a row in the table to display the details for that record.
A menu appears in the table header when you select one or more rows in the table.
Select all selects all the rows in the table.
Description link, which is located in the description column, displays the global limit monitor page for the selected monitor.
Change rules link, which is located in the change rules column, displays the limit change rules that are defined for the selected monitor.
Delete deletes the selected records.
Cancel closes the menu in the table header.
