FTM Assistant AI Powered

The FTM Assistant is an AI-powered conversational interface integrated into IBM Financial Transaction Manager (FTM) that provides intelligent assistance to users. You use it to get quick, contextual help and answers to your questions directly without leaving the application.

Accessing the FTM Assistant

Location
You can access the FTM Assistant from any page in the FTM application by selecting the AI button in the breadcrumbs area on the right side of the screen.
Opening the Assistant
To open the FTM Assistant, navigate to any page in FTM application, find the AI button in the top-right breadcrumbs section, and click it. The FTM Assistant panel opens.

User Interface Components

When you open the FTM Assistant, a side panel appears with the following components:

Title FTM Assistant.
Information Button When you click this button, you see a tooltip with more details about the AI technology.

Column name Description
Conversation Area Displays the chat history between the user and the AI assistant.
Message Input A text area at the bottom with placeholder text “Type your message…”

Actions

The actions that are available on the page are shown in the following list:
  • Send Message sends your message to the AI assistant. Starts a new conversation or continues the current one.
  • Clear Chat Messages clears all messages from your current chat session. Removes the conversation history from your display.
  • Start New Chat Starts a completely new conversation. Resets the context and gives you a new interaction window.

Best Practices

Follow these best practices to get accurate, clear, and consistent responses from the FTM Assistant:

  • Be Specific: Ask clear, specific questions to get better responses.
  • Start New Sessions: Use Start New Chat when switching topics so you get more accurate results.
  • Clear When Needed: Clear chat messages to declutter the interface.
