Changing the resource allocation parameters
After deployment, you can change your resource allocation parameters. Use the disaster recovery (DR) mode setting when you update the resource allocation parameters in the FTM custom resource.
Without DR mode, you might encounter multiple pods constantly trying to auto-scale and more instances of pods than expected. This issue can occur in clusters with limited resources.
- Shut down all pods by setting the DR mode to passive.
Change the ftm/drmode annotation parameter to passive and keep all other configurations as-is.
- After all the component pods are scaled down, update the resource-related values in the custom resource.
- Start all pods with the updated custom resource by setting the DR mode to active.

FTM has default resource parameters for Check that are set to minimal values. You need to manually configure the resources if you want to allocate more resources for your environment or for specific scenarios.
