Overview
- Image
Compliance service, which performs the actual image evaluations. Image
Compliance checks
that different aspects of an image complies with specified standards
and requirements. The aspects of the image that are checked for compliance
are:
- Ensure the image structure complies with a set of rules (TIFF Validation)
- Ensure the image quality is adequate (Image Quality Analysis)
- Ensure the MICR codeline from the image matches what is provided with the image (Image Integrity)
Controls are provided to allow the user to select a subset of analysis functions to be performed and make changes to how problems that are identified within the image file are to be handled.
- Suspect Image Review provides an image review console that an operator can use to mark images as suspect or allow the images to continue processing. For more information, see Suspect Image Review.
- The quality of the original paper document
- The presentation of the document to the image capturing device
- The condition of the system used to acquire the image
Images consist of two separate, but interconnected data structures. The first structure, which is called metadata, consists of descriptions of the image data that is provided within the image. For TIFF images, this is defined in the TIFF specification. The second structure, the data, consists of the image data.
Image Compliance evaluates both data structures to ensure the image files comply with valid standards and the image data in the image file contains an image that is of adequate quality for exchange. The analysis and rating of the images is performed without altering the original image in any way.
When the Image Compliance service determines that an image is possibly defective, the Suspect Image Review component of Image Compliance can be used to check the suspected images and either mark the image for re-scan or allow the image to continue through processing.
