Pre test checklists

There are a number of diagnostic tools or configurations that can be activated on a system that can severely inhibit performance. The nature of a performance and tuning activity means that some of these things will invariably be activated during the course of work in order to collect detailed information to facilitate application improvements. The following checklist should be used when testing to ensure that these items are not accidentally left enabled thus inhibiting performance:

• FTM trace
• Broker trace
• Broker statistics
• Broker debugger port
• ODBC trace
• Database monitors
• FTM event 'LOG_EVENT_OVERRIDE' settings
• FTM event 'RENDER_MSG_OVERRIDE' settings
