Workflow Setup

The workflow defines the overall construction of the decision process to be used on the Business Rules Server. It is the highest level in the creation of the overall workflow.

Any number of work flows can be defined in the system, but a client application can use only one at a time. The client specifies which workflow to load on the initialize message. The workflow comes from one of the following locations:

The property file for the API
The property file for Gateway
The Business Rules user exit in Gateway

There is also an additional option that replaces all others. A user exit can be set up in the Business Rules Server to select or change the workflow being supplied by the client. For more information, see Workflow selection user exit. The construction of the workflow is determined by the workflow XML file (see Workflow XML File).
