Outbound Accounting

Outbound accounting is responsible for generating accounting entries for the outbound cash letters that are sent. It can generate general ledger or non-general ledger accounting entries on a cash letter by cash letter basis.

When receiving an image cash letter transmission sent message from the Transaction Server, the outbound accounting task performs the following actions for each cash letter within the transmission:
  1. Determines if the cash letter is for a holdover endpoint by looking up the endpoint for the cash letter in the holdover type table.
  2. Generates holdover accounting for the cash letter if the cash letter is associated with an endpoint contained in the holdover type table. For all non-holdover work, outbound accounting proceeds as follows.
  3. Does not perform accounting if the endpoint associated with the cash letter is a replication endpoint. Each endpoint within the system configuration may have a replication endpoint defined. This means any transaction written to the endpoint is replicated in the replication endpoint. Outbound accounting does not create any accounting records for replication endpoints.
  4. Looks up the outbound product associated with the endpoint for non replication endpoints. The presentment product table contains an accounting indicator. If the accounting indicator for the product is set to yes, outbound accounting records are generated for the cash letter.
