Gateway Sorter Allocation

All Gateway instances use a single image capture path that is defined by using the imageCapturePath gateway configuration property. This setting enables all Gateway instances the ability to access images for all the sorters.

All sorters must be defined in the Gateway sorter list database table. The sample configuration loads sorters 01- 99. If you have any reserved sorters and do not want Gateway Server to use them, you must ensure to remove them from the Gateway sorter list database table. To prevent contention, each sorter is used by a single Gateway Server at a time. When a Gateway Server starts, it finds the first available sorter that is not fully utilized. The maximum image sequence number (999,999) is not assigned. When all sorters are fully utilized, Gateway locks the oldest sorter number and starts over at the beginning sequence number.
