Configuration needed to process transmissions with custom file extensions
Associate a custom file extension with a transmission type. Then, associate the transmission type with a business day category.
Do the following steps to be able to process transmissions with custom file extensions. For most
of the steps, you can either use the user interface or update the spreadsheets that are used by the
data setup
utility (DSU).
- Add a transmission type, if required. A new file extension can be added to an existing
transmission type.
- User interface page to use: Manage transmission types
- DSU spreadsheet to use: Update the Transmission Types tab in your
configuration spreadsheets. If you are using the sample DSU configuration
spreadsheets, update the following sample configuration spreadsheet files as necessary.
- For Check: SampleCheckConfiguration.xlsx
Note: When you add a transmission type by using the DSU spreadsheet method, the transmission type must be an integer value greater than or equal to 1000. Values less than 1000 are reserved for internal use.
- Add the custom file extension and associate it with the appropriate transmission type.
- User interface page to use: Manage file suffix
- DSU spreadsheet to use: Update the File Suffix tab in your configuration
spreadsheets. If you are using the sample DSU configuration spreadsheets,
update the following sample configuration spreadsheet files as necessary.
- For Check: SampleCheckConfiguration.xlsx
- Associate the transmission type with the business day category. In addition to using the user
interface or spreadsheets, see the BusinessDayCategoryFtmNode in the appropriate BusinessDayWorkflow
for an example of how to assign the business day category.
- User interface page to use: Manage releases. Use the manage releases page to view and edit the business rules. The rule to change is the Business Day Category rule, which is associated with table name BD_CATEGORY_LOOKUP_FTM.
- DSU spreadsheet to use: Update the FTM Business Day Category tab in your
Business Rules configuration spreadsheets. If you are using the sample DSU
Business Rules configuration spreadsheets, update the following sample configuration
spreadsheet files as necessary.
- For Check: SampleBusinessRulesCheckConfiguration.xls
