A core principle of FTM is that the implementation of the business process operates
with the Internal Canonical format (ISF) rather than the external formats. Having identified the message and
interface types, it is easy to identify the mappings that are needed for an FTM
implementation. A mapping is needed for each interface in Message Format Support Required;
inbound where FTM is the target system, and outbound where FTM
is the source system.
