Image Data Record

Each logical image data record present in the variable length CIFF extract file created by the batch job consists of a physical image data record and zero or more physical image extension records. The number of image extension records depends on how many times the logical record's length exceeded the z/OS® maximum record length of 32756 bytes. Figure 1 shows the basic fields for a logical image data record that contains segments 1, 2, and 4, and spans two physical records. The first four bytes (record length) of each physical record are not shown. Image extension records are the only records that do not have a record type. These follow the image data record of image extension record they extend.
