Search Term
The search term field is where the user provides the data value
used to search for the rows they want to view. Except for table columns
that have a static set of search terms, the user can enter either
numeric or string data in this field. When the filter is applied,
the data entered for the search term is validated based on the data
type of the column selected for filtering as follows:
- Numeric Search Terms
- When the column to be filtered is numeric, the user interface verifies that a valid number has been entered. If an invalid number was entered, the search term is marked with an X and an error message indicating why the search term failed validation is displayed at the top of the page
- String Search Terms
- When the column to be filtered is a string, the search term
is not case sensitive. For example, if a bank is in the database as
Bank A, the following search terms would find the bank:
- BANK A
- bank a
- BaNK a
