The holdover process fails

Problem:
Distribution encountered a problem processing holdover transactions. An X, which is red, is shown on the business day management user interface screen.
Symptom:
Multiple outbound transmissions have a status of holdover deleted. Also, multiple holdover transmissions have been created and multiple inbound batches (ICLs) are on the eligible transactions list for the business day that was held over.
Note: The transmissions in holdover deleted status are the transmissions to which the transactions held over were originally mapped, and are placeholders during holdover processing. Because these transmissions are placeholders, the total number of transactions and the total dollar amounts for these transmissions may not reflect the current state of the transmission and should be ignored. The placeholder transmissions are removed after holdover completes successfully.
Solution:
Perform the following tasks:
  1. If possible, build and release the existing holdover transmissions before executing holdover again. This keeps the transactions from being reprocessed by holdover.
  2. Verify that the error that occurred is recoverable
  3. Execute holdover again
Once holdover has completed successfully:
  • there should be no outbound transmissions with holdover deleted status
  • no batches (ICLs) should be shown on the eligible transactions list for the business day that was held over.
