Endpoint remapping
Endpoint remapping is used to designate an alternative endpoint for an existing endpoint.
Remapping provides a way for the user to route outbound transactions to a different receiver when outbound transmissions cannot be sent to the original receiver. Maybe the transmissions were not sent because of a problem with the configuration of the original receiver, such as an endpoint, channel, or participant. Endpoints might also need to be remapped when Distribution determines that the primary receiver is not available.
Endpoints can be remapped by business day or on a transmission or batch (ICL) basis. If it is known that a certain endpoint cannot accept outbound transmissions for an entire business day, consider remapping it for the entire business day.
For more information about using the endpoint remapping pages in Distribution, see Endpoint remapping pages.
