Manage units of work
The manage units of work page is used to search for units of work in the system based on several criteria. Using the results of the search, select a unit of work and category of items in the unit of work to review.
- Namespace
- Select the namespace to review. Only namespaces for which the user has namespace review permission are listed here.
- User ID
- Displays the units of work for the user ID selected from this list. Select the IZHSYSTEM user ID to display the records that an operator has not yet made a decision for.
- Only show active units of work
- Select this check box to limit the results to active units of work, which are units of work that contain deferred or not reviewed items.
- Do not use start and end times
- Select this check box to ignore the start and end date and time fields.
- Start and end date and time
- Enter values in these fields to specify a time interval for when the units of work were introduced into the system. The values use the time and date preference of the user. Be sure to use the time and date format shown in the example displayed with each field. Click the calendar icon to enter the dates. By default, a time interval for the current hour is specified.
The unit of work list shows the units of work meeting the search criteria specified.
Each unit of work in the list is represented by a row in the table. Each row has information about the unit of work and icons at the end of the row used to accept all items, reject all items, re-post a completion message, and delete the unit of work from the system.
- Not reviewed
- Items identified as possibly being duplicates of other items in the system. The system makes this decision based on the namespace definition for a potential duplicate.
- Deferred
- Items reviewed but deferred for later review by either the system as part of an auto-decision rule in the namespace or by a review operator who decided another review by a supervisor is needed.
- Duplicates
- Items reviewed and determined to be actual duplicates by an operator or the system using an auto-decision rule.
- Not duplicates
- Items reviewed and determined to not be duplicates by an operator or the system using an auto-decision rule.
- Deleted
- The number of items deleted. Deleted records are not used for duplicate checking. For example, an item may be deleted when it is returned to the sender of the item. If the item is re-presented later, it should not be a duplicate. To avoid detecting these items, they are logically deleted.
- Other
- There are situations when items in a unit of work are not in any of the status categories. An example is when items are purged. If only part of a unit of work is purged, the sum of the item counts in the status categories does not match the total number in the original unit of work. Another case is when requesting the counts in the status columns for a particular user ID. The sum of the counts may not equal the total. In both of these cases, the Other column reflects the items that were not counted in the individual status categories.
When there are items in the list available for review, the review items icon is displayed for users with permission to work with the items. Clicking the icon begins a review of the individual items. The sort column and sort order for the list of review items are configured on the namespace properties page.
For more information about reviewing items, see Reviewing Items.
