Overview

Distribution is one of the Common Services components. It can be used to create outbound transmissions from data in the FTM database. Distribution uses the definitions of banks, participants, endpoints, transmission definitions, and building options to control the contents and the type of transmission that is built. Transactions are exported from the FTM database and assigned to transmissions based on the business day, bank, and endpoint that were assigned to the payment at ingestion.

A browser-based administrative console allows administrators and users to access the component without special client software. Preferences for time zones, dates, and language are configurable, enabling users to reside in multiple locations or geographical areas from the location of the component installation. Console features are provided for typical user and component administration. The typical user can view the status of outbound segments, batches (ICLs), and transmissions. The administrator sets up users, grants permissions, and configures runtime properties.
