TCH RTP average throughput time
The system performance management dashboard provides key performance indicators (KPIs) and graphs that display the average throughput time for TCH message processing. It has two tabs that show information about the average throughput time.
The tabs have different attributes that are used to display the average throughput statistics. The two tabs have a common filter, which is the product type. You can use this filter to update all of the widgets on a tab to filter the data by the product type.
Some of the example charts and widgets that are available on this sample dashboard are shown in the
following list.
- Average Throughput by Hour (Last 24 hours)
- This bar chart displays the number of transactions by hour for the past 24-hour period. The color gradient on the bars of the chart shows the number of transactions. The bars with the darker colors have more transactions in that group. You can use the navigation groups to switch the unit of time that is used to display the statistics. For example, you can display the information by minutes instead of by hours.
- Average Throughput by Message Type
- This bar chart displays the number of transactions by message type. The color gradient on the bars of the chart shows the number of transactions that are over the value for the product type SLA. The bars with the darker colors have more transactions that are over the SLA value. You can use the navigation groups to display the number of transactions by status for the message type.
- Average Throughput by Message Type
- This line chart includes a flat line that indicates where the value of the product type SLA is on the chart. The line makes it easier to see which messages are generally higher than the SLA limits.
- KPIs
- KPIs have four tables that each show information for a different attribute. Each table shows the total number of transactions, the number of transactions that are over the SLA value, and the average throughput time. The average throughput column in each table is color-coded based on defined ranges. You can configure the ranges to meet your requirements.
IBM Cognos Analytics data model for this sample dashboard
The following table shows the key data elements that are included in the Cognos® data
model.
| Data element | Description |
|---|---|
| Created Date | The date that the transaction was created. It is in the operational timezone. |
| Created Hour | The hour from the transaction created timestamp. The hour is extracted after the timestamp is converted to the operational timezone. |
| Created Minute | The minutes from the transaction created timestamp. The minutes are extracted after the timestamp is converted to the operational timezone. |
| Minute Group | This element contains the group number that is assigned to the minutes value from the created minute element. An hour is divided into 12 group numbers, where each group represents a 5-minute interval. |
| Created TS | A timestamp that is derived from the transaction created timestamp. For example, 3/20
14:00 and 10/2 2:00. |
| Product Type | The product type. For example, origination or receipt. |
| Object Class | The object class. For example, pacs.008 or camt.056. |
| TCH Message Type | The TCH message type of the transaction. For example, Credit Transfer, RFI, RFP, and RfRoF. This element is derived from SUBTYPE. |
| Channel Name | The name of the channel or interface. |
| Status | The status of the TCH transaction. |
| Total Number of Files | The total number of transmissions for the group. |
| Total Number of Transactions | The total number of transactions for the group. |
| Average Latency (in seconds) | This element is a weighted average that is calculated based on the total number of transactions and the latency. |
| Product Type SLA | This element is a constant value that defines the average SLA based on the product type. This value is used to draw a flat line on the charts, which makes it easier to see where your throughput values are higher than the average SLA values. Because this SLA is defined in the Cognos data module, you can easily change its value. |
| Num Txns Over SLA | The number of transactions that have a value that exceeds the product type SLA value. The dashboard always shows aggregated data instead of individual transactions. When an aggregated group has an average latency that exceeds the product type SLA, all of the transactions in that group are included in this number. |
Navigation groups in the data model for this sample dashboard
Navigation groups are used to change the dashboard view from one level to another. The navigation groups
that are defined in the data model for this dashboard are shown in the following list.
- Created Hour → Minute Group
- Created Hour → Created Minute
- Created TS → Created Minute
- Created TS → Minute Group
- Channel Name → TCH Message Type
- TCH Message Type → Status
