Configuring users

To grant access to the FTM Control Center, you must add new users and associate them with the appropriate user groups using the Data Setup Utility (DSU).

Add the User

Follow the steps to add the user details to the spreadsheet to define their account.

  1. Open the SampleCommonConfiguration.xlsx file.
  2. Go to the Users sheet.
  3. Enter the user details in the required columns: User ID, Last Name, First Name, Email Address, Language Locale, Format Locale, and Time Zone.
  4. Enter the User ID as the OIDC Login User ID. This can be the email address or an alphanumeric user ID, depending on your OIDC configuration.

Add the User to a Group

Follow the steps to assign the user to the appropriate group to define their access rights within the FTM Control Center.

  1. Open the User Group Link sheet in the SampleCommonConfiguration.xlsx file.
  2. Enter the following details.
    User PK
    Enter the User ID added in the previous step, that is, OIDC Login User ID from the OIDC Configuration.
    Group ID
    Enter the name of the group. For example, FTM Administrators.
    Note: Group ID is an existing group in FTM. FTM Administrators group provides the users with access to basic features of FTM Control Center UI.

Run the Limited DSU Import

Follow the steps to import the user and user group information into FTM by preparing the import file and running the DSU.

  1. Open the FeatureXREF.xlsx file and go to the Import sheet.
  2. Set the Import column to Y for Users and User Group Link.
  3. Set the Import column to N for all other rows to avoid importing unnecessary or duplicate data.
  4. Run the DSU to import the data from SampleCommonConfiguration.xlsx sheet as per DSU instructions.
  5. Verify that the user is created and assigned to the correct user group.
