Grayscale Metrics

Image Compliance finds the image quality metrics for each grayscale image. A grayscale image is one segment of a document image record, such as the grayscale image of the back of a document.

Image Compliance does the following:
  1. Unwraps the grayscale image
  2. Evaluates each of the following grayscale image characteristics:
    • Decompress failure
    • Compressed data size
    • Document length
    • Document height
    • Document dimension mismatch
    • Missing or torn corners
    • Image brightness
    • Image contrast
    • Image focus
    • Front of document skew
    • E13B character integrity on front
    • Streak detection
    • Ability to check for codeline matching
  3. Returns results of the evaluation
Note: The process may stop before finishing and return with an error. This may happen when the image is of poor enough quality that the evaluation indicates that further processing is unwarranted.
