The missingcorners element is present when scan resolution information is available in the image. It contains the following parts:
inches
The inches elements contain floating point numbers of inches missing in the corresponding corner. This size is the length of the side of the largest square which fits in the missing corner region. The inches elements are:
  • inches corner=upperleft
  • inches corner=upperright
  • inches corner=lowerleft
  • inches corner=lowerright
score
The score element contains a floating point number between 0 and 10 (inclusive). This value is the Image Quality Analysis estimate of the likelihood no corner of the document is substantially missing from the image. A 10 indicates the corners pass this test and are good. A 0 indicates one of the corners fails this test and is substantially missing. Values in between 0 and 10 indicate one of the document corners is marginal and is partially missing from the image.
Note: If the scanner background is white instead of black, the missing corners test always passes.
