Using a Customer Transmission Name or Debit Amount

Using a customer transmission name or debit amount may not uniquely identify a transmission. If more than one transmission with the value is found, the transmission acknowledgment task does not run and an error message is issued. If multiple transmissions are found for the customer transmission name, they can be distinguished by the debit amounts.

When a value is entered, click Run Task. The transmission acknowledgment task tries to find the transmission requested. If a unique transmission is found, the artifacts are built and delivered to the Gateway outgoing directory, where they are processed.

If the transmission name is not found in the system, an error message is shown on the manual task page:
Could not locate the transmission using the information entered.
Try again using different parameter inputs.
If multiple transmissions are found, the transmission acknowledgment task does not run and a failure is reported:
A unique transmission could not be determined using the value entered
for the customer filename. Try adding a debit amount value to further
define the transmission of interest.
Use a debit amount, in addition to the transmission name, to further distinguish the transmission. The debit amount is entered using dollars and cents. The decimal in the amount is optional. For example,
  • 43414.26
  • 4341426
Note: Values entered without the decimal point are interpreted as pennies. To enter a dollar amount, the decimal is required.
When the debit amount is entered, click Run Task to try running the transmission acknowledgment task again. In some cases, using the transmission name and debit amount may not locate the transmission. If the transmission is not found with this method, use the transmission ID. For more information, see Using a Transmission ID.
Note: Entering both values in a search requires that both values be found in the same transmission.
