Permissions

Permissions are created during deployment and are closely tied to the pages within the Control Center user interface. Each page is associated with one or more permissions to provide access to functions on that page. When a user doesn't have the permissions for a page, they can't see that page in the navigation tree.

For example, the Control Center user interface has a page that is used to manage user accounts. The set of permissions for some groups includes the ability to review, create, edit, and delete user accounts. When a user is a member of a group with at least one of these permissions, the page to manage the user accounts is available to them. If the user has none of the permissions, the page is not shown.

A group must have permission to view a page before the users in that group can assign any other permissions that are related to that page. Attempting to assign permissions to a page without first having view permission might remove the navigation for the page from the user interface. Or, the page might display the error message "Page cannot be displayed".
