Sample setup for single cluster application servers

This sample setup is for a single clustered application server environment. The following figure shows a sample machine setup for a Java™ EE application. This example uses the queue and application names for Risk Management, which must be changed when you are setting up a different application.
Note: This sample is only a recommendation and can be altered to fit hardware requirements.

Machines

In this setup, the workload is separated on two machines.
Table 1. Single cluster workload
Machine Description
Machines A and B These machines have application servers that are members of the cluster. They contain all the Java EE applications, including the Control Center. They also contain all the component extension user interfaces, and the engine EARs.

It is recommended that the application server machines are separate from the machine that contains the Transaction Server. Having dedicated processors for the components that are based on Java provides optimal processor availability for heavy workloads.

Machine C This machine contains the Transaction Server.
