Sample setup for dual cluster application servers

This sample setup is for a clustered application server environment with two clusters. The following figure shows a sample machine setup for a Java™ EE application. This example uses the queue and application names for Risk Management, which must be changed when you are setting up a different application.
Note: This sample is only a recommendation and can be altered to fit hardware requirements.

Machines

In this setup, the workload is separated on two machines in an engine cluster. The user interface is separated on two machines in a separate user interface cluster.
Table 1. Dual cluster workload
Machine Description
Machines A and B These machines have application servers that are members of the user interface cluster. They contain the Control Center and all the component extension user interfaces.
Machines C and D These machines have application servers that are members of the engine cluster. They contain the engine EARs.

It is recommended that engine applications be separate from the machine that contains the Transaction Server. Having dedicated processors for the engine applications provides optimal processor availability for heavy workloads.

Machine E This machine contains the Transaction Server.
